Youtube Montization Changes & Throttling Feeds

I got an email from youtube today telling me that as of February I will no longer have access to the Monetization feature on my videos because I have less than 1000 subscribers and less than 4,000 hrs of watch time.

It just feels like they are trying to cater to higher-end creators and squeezing us little people out.  As of February, I have no incentive to keep making videos. They’ve throttled the organic feed to subscribers just as Facebook did.  If you didn’t know Facebook’s organic feed for pages is now at .04% unless you pay or run a paid promotion.  I’ve seen a HUGE drop in the number of views my videos get.  I used to hit at least 100 in the first week (measly I know) now I’m lucky to have 15.

I’m so frustrated with all of it right now.

For the past few days, I’ve been reading articles on hashtags for Instagram because my views there have dropped considerably, not that they were out of this world by any stretch of the imagination.  But I feel like IG is throttling feeds too, which would make sense because they’re owned by Facebook.

They keep changing the rules and making it harder than it needs to be.
