It seems like October’s Drawlloween kinda primed the creative wheels. I need to flesh it out a little more, and work on the background and I may just paint it. My list of paintings to do during this off season is growing.

Progress on ‘Sugar Skull’

These days I tend to post lots of updates on my tumblr.

Sketches in Blue

Definitely going to paint this, maybe even do a series. Instead of the traditional bold colors, I’m thinking muted pale shades, white hair, pink eyes or pale blue eyes. I want it to look very painterly.

The Chase…

Ok, here’s a better view of my sketch along with some of the references I used. What really inspired me this time was the middle reference. The shot of her horses face.

I’m hoping to have a painting of this completed before we leave for GenCon.

The Chase… Sketch

Earlier in the week I was watching ‘Fellowship of the Ring’, it seems like that movie is always inspiring me in some way.

I need to scour the web or rewatch that sequence to see if I can get a glimpse of her trousers, and the details of the saddle & bridle.

I’m pretty pleased with the sketch… which means I should probably paint it. Hopefully I’ll have it done before GenCon.
